What we DO and DON’t know about parabens

Recently, a new topic  shift the focus of the society from GMOs. Parabens are about to trigger a new frenzy as many other things before. What do we know and what we don’t about parabens? They are chemical compounds, some of which occur naturally in plants (blueberries contain methylparaben, which have bactericidal properties). People are using man-made parabe

ns, they are separated in oil refining, have no color, smell and taste. Their use is widespread due to the low price and strong preservative, bactericidal and fungicidal properties. You can find it in almost all cosmetics – from toothpaste to shampoos and makeup. They are labeled as E218 (methylparaben), E214 (ethylparaben), E216 (propylparaben).

The effect of using parabens has become very controversial, as small amounts are found in some tumors. This leads some scientists to believe that they are somehow involved in the metabolism of cells degenerate. It is not yet established, however, if they provoke the tumor growth or if they are a product of the metabolism.

One of the main concerns comes from the fact that parabens mimic the hormone estrogen, which is a growth factor in cells of breast cancer. For the moment, this hypothesis has no reliable scientific evidence, simply because no one has done serious research in this area.

Philippa Darbre – molecular biologist, said that ester form of parabens found in tumors, shows that they are a result from the application of a substance on the skin, such as anti-perspirant deodorant, cream or body spray. According to her those results explain why 60% of all cases of breast cancer are found in only one fifth of breast – in particular, upper extremity, near the armpit. She admits that in this study is not possible to say whether parabens actually caused the tumors, but it certainly can be associated with overall increased cases of breast cancer. More young women suffer from that terrible disease, according to statistics, they often use anti-perspirant deodorants.

Therefore, scientists are pushing for a serious and thorough research on the problem. Research from 2004 of Northwest University demonstrated that diagnosis of breast cancer at an early age is associated with more frequent use of antiperspirants, deodorants and underarm shaving. “Personally, I think there is a great link between hygiene habits in the area under the arms and breast cancer,” says immunologist Dr. Kris McGrath, author of the study of breast cancer.

Whether a future research will return to production and bathing with home-made soap as our grandmothers,  only time will tell. It is a fact that we are flooded with toxic substances and we must think about prevention in this direction. In regarts to a way of treatment and prevention, we will redirect you to BIODOCTOR Medical Center, where you will be consulted and introduced to the ways of alternative teratments. The product you need is CELLFOOD® – the world’s leading high-performance oxygen and hydrogen based consumer health product that stimulates the increase of oxygen in the cancer cell, which causes its destruction as cancer cannot live in oxygen environment.
